Andis Gjoni
Scenic Designer (Beware: Bernadette! A Musical Fable)
Andis Gjoni, artist and scenic designer, is a “figlio d’arte” born in Albania
from artist parents, his father, a composer and conductor, and his mother, a
pianist. He literally grew up on the stage of the Opera Theater. Creator of
successful sets for West Side Story (2004), In the Name of the People (2003), The
Unnamed Star by M. Sebastian (2002), The Miser by Moliere (2001), Outside It
Snows by Salemme (1999), Miss Julie by Strindberg (1998), The Maids by Jean
Genet (1996), A Stupid and a Half by Psatha (1991). Participant in international
theater festivals in Sweden and Macedonia. Winner of the prize for the
creation of Ceremonial Costumes of the National Guard of Albania.
Participant in the World Trade Center Memorial competition in New York
(2004). His achievements also include solo exhibitions of his artwork and
installations in different countries all over the world.
