Dondrie C. Burnham
Dionne Breedlove (Beware: Bernadette! A Musical Fable)
Dondrie Burnham is an actor, advisor, and poet who has worked in the
theatre for over ten years both on and off stage. She holds a B.A. in
Theatre Performance from Marymount Manhattan College. During her
stint at Marymount, Dondrie co-founded StoneSoupTheatreArts, a
political theatre company based in Manhattan, serving as both a
company and board member. Dondrie has studied her craft with Ellen
Orenstein, Kevin Connell, Faye Simpson, and Gail Cronauer.
Currently splitting her time with the Hip-Hop Association and New
York Women in Film and Television, Dondrie hopes to utilize her
positions to help redefine the actor/director relationship in hip-hop
films. She lives in New York City where she works as the Acquisitions
Coordinator for the Hip-Hop Association and also serves as the
Director of Film Programming and Acquisitions for the H2O (Hip-Hop
Odyssey) International Film Festival. Additionally, Dondrie starred as
"Lisa" in the Texas premiere of William Finn's A New Brain at the Quad
C Theatre, as well as in Henry V ("Henry V"), Our Town ("Stage
Manager"), The Trojan Woman, Three Sisters, The Vagina Monologues, and
the independent film North of Nowhere ("Mama D").
